Bundle settings and product targeting

Learn how to configure your bundle's general settings, control which products display the bundle, customize variant and image options, and set pricing display preferences.

The Settings tab is where you configure the foundation of your bundle: its name, where it appears, how products and variants are displayed, and how pricing is shown to customers. These settings apply to the entire bundle, not just individual offers.

To access these settings, click Settings in the left sidebar under Customize in the bundle editor.

In this article:

Bundle name and title

Name (customers won't see): An internal name to help you identify the bundle in your dashboard. Customers never see this. Use something descriptive like "Summer BOGO Shoes" or "Holiday Volume Discount" so you can quickly find it when managing multiple bundles.

Bundle title: The heading that appears above the bundle widget on your product page. This is what customers see. Keep it clear and action-oriented, like "Bundle & Save" or "Pick Your Deal."

Bundle title alignment: Controls how the title is positioned above the bundle widget. Options are Left, Center, or Right.

Offer layout

Controls how offers are visually arranged in the bundle widget:

  • Vertical: Offers are stacked on top of each other in a list. This is the default and works well for most bundles, especially those with detailed offer descriptions.

  • Horizontal: Offers are displayed side by side. This works best when you have a small number of offers with short titles and want a compact layout.

Product targeting

The Products setting controls which product pages display this bundle. You have three options:

All products: The bundle appears on every product page in your store. This is the simplest setup and works well for store-wide promotions like "Buy 2, Save 10% on anything."

Specific collections: The bundle only appears on product pages for products within the collections you select. Click Select products to open the product picker, where you can search and filter to find the right collections.

Specific product(s): The bundle only appears on the exact product pages you choose. Click Select products to open the product picker, which lets you search your catalog, filter results, and select individual products. The picker shows product images and names, and displays a count of how many products you've selected.

💡 Start with "Specific product(s)" when testing a new bundle. Once you've validated that it converts well, expand to collections or all products.

Customizing swatches

Click Edit swatches to open the swatch customization modal. Swatches control how product variant options (like color) appear inside the bundle widget.

Product Option: Select which product option the swatches represent (e.g., Color, Size).

Type: Choose how the swatch is displayed:

  • Default: Uses a standard dropdown selector.

  • Color swatch: Displays variant options as colored circles or squares using the variant's color value.

  • Image swatch: Displays variant options as small product images.

Swatch Size (px): Adjust how large the swatches appear using the slider.

Swatch Shape: Controls the shape of the swatch elements. Options are Square, Circle, or Rounded Square.

Setting default variants

Click Set default variants to open a modal where you control which variant is pre-selected for each product in each offer.

The modal shows your bundle preview on the left. Click on an offer tier to select it, then choose a product on the right side to set its default variant. This is useful when you want customers to see a specific color or size as the starting selection rather than the first variant in your Shopify product list.

Offer image size and radius

These sliders control the appearance of offer images within the bundle widget:

  • Size: Adjusts how large the offer images appear.

  • Radius: Controls the corner rounding of offer images. Set to 0 for sharp corners, or increase for a softer, rounded look.

Spacing between offers

The Spacing between offers slider controls the gap (in pixels) between each offer card in the bundle widget. Increase spacing for a more open, airy layout, or decrease it for a tighter, more compact look.

Variant image settings

These settings control how product variant images behave within the bundle widget:

  • Size and Radius: Sliders that control the display size and corner rounding of variant images.

  • Show variant images: When enabled, variant images appear next to each variant selector in the bundle widget. Disable this for a cleaner, text-only variant display.

  • Display variant's image as main product image when selected: When a customer selects a variant in the bundle, the main product image on the page updates to show that variant's image. This helps customers see exactly what they're choosing.

  • Use native theme swatches: Instead of using the bundler's own swatch styles, this option uses your Shopify theme's built-in swatch design. Enable this if you want variant selectors in the bundle to match the rest of your store's look and feel.

ℹ️ If your theme already has well-designed variant swatches, enabling "Use native theme swatches" creates a more consistent experience for customers browsing your product pages.

Pricing display options

These checkboxes control how pricing information is shown to customers in the bundle widget:

  • Show individual unit price: Displays the per-item price for each offer rather than the combined total. This is helpful for quantity-based bundles where customers want to see how much each individual item costs.

  • Show compare-at price: Displays the original price crossed out next to the discounted price, making the savings immediately visible.

  • Use product compare-at price: Pulls the compare-at price directly from your Shopify product settings instead of calculating it from the bundle discount. Enable this if you've already set compare-at prices on your products and want the bundle to use those values.

  • Update theme product price: Updates the main product price displayed on the page (the large price that typically appears next to the product name) to reflect the selected bundle offer. Without this, the page price stays static while only the bundle widget shows the adjusted pricing.

💡 Enable "Show compare-at price" and "Update theme product price" together for maximum impact. Customers see the savings both in the bundle widget and in the main product price, reinforcing the value from every angle.

Price rounding

The Price rounding dropdown controls how bundle prices are rounded after discounts are applied. This helps maintain clean, professional-looking prices:

  • None: No rounding. Prices display exactly as calculated (e.g., $23.47).

  • Round to .99: Prices are rounded to end in .99 (e.g., $23.99).

  • Round to .95: Prices are rounded to end in .95 (e.g., $23.95).

  • Round to .00: Prices are rounded to the nearest whole dollar (e.g., $24.00).

Cart and checkout behavior

Skip cart (redirect to checkout): When enabled, clicking the add-to-cart button on a bundle bypasses the cart page entirely and sends the customer straight to Shopify checkout. This reduces friction and can improve conversion rates for impulse purchases, but means customers won't have a chance to review their cart or add other items before checking out.

⚠️ Use "Skip cart" carefully. It works well for single-product stores or focused landing pages, but can hurt conversion on stores where customers typically buy multiple items in one session.
