In HelloHacker, managing your Products, Devices, and Personalities helps you organize and customize your boxes to get the best detection results. Here’s how each element works and how to access them.
Product
A Product is the physical HelloHacker device you own. Each Product must be activated with a valid license number before it can be used.
Device
Each product has multiple Ethernet ports, including five ports that can be assigned a personality. Each of these ports is considered a separate device in the interface.
Personality
A Personality defines which service or services a Device will imitate. These services are designed to look like real ones that attackers often target, helping you detect and analyze their attempts.
How to Access Your Products List
Log in to the HelloHacker web app.
Click the gear icon at the top right.
Select Customer Profile.
In this section, you’ll see a list of all your HelloHacker Products along with their details (name, serial number, status, license expiration date, etc.).
Managing Devices and Personalities
In the Products list, you’ll also find all the Devices (Ethernet ports) linked to each Product.
To change a Device’s Personality:
Click on the Product containing the device that you wish to edit.
2. Click on the Device you want to edit.
3. Change the Personality as desired or choose a pre-configured template.
4. Save your changes.
Each Device can have a different Personality, allowing you to diversify the simulated services and increase your chances of catching different types of attacks.
Some more advanced configurations can be set on a device by selecting the pen and paper icon :
From there, you can:
Set a static IP address
Assign a custom hostname
Specify a log server
By effectively managing your Products, Devices, and Personalities, you maximize your traps and improve your threat detection coverage.
