Configuring notification preferences

Written by Jonathan Bolduc

You can control how and when you get alerts right from winthin the web app.

Open the preferences

  1. Log in and click the cog in the top-right corner.

  2. Choose Customer profile.

  3. In that panel, click the pen-and-paper icon above the customer preferences.

A menu will open on the right with many configuration options for your account. Among these, the following are directly related to your notification preferences:

  • Default language
Sets the language used in alerts and system messages

  • Email for sending alerts
The address where the system will deliver all alert emails. Make sure this is a monitored inbox so you don’t miss important notifications.

  • Minimum level of severity for sending emails
Controls which alerts trigger an email. You can choose from None, Informational, Low, Medium, High, or Critical. For example, setting it to “High” will only email you about the most urgent threats.

  • Automatic blocklist (threatfeed) deletion delay (hours)
Determines how long entries stay in your standard blocklist before being automatically removed. A shorter delay keeps your list cleaner, while a longer delay keeps blocked items in place for longer.

  • Automatic WAN blocklist (threatfeed) deletion delay (hours)
Works like the above, but applies to the WAN-level blocklist.

  • Minimum level of severity to make an entry in the blocklist
Sets the threshold for adding alerts to your regular blocklist. Choosing “Medium” or higher means only more serious threats will be added.

  • Minimum level of severity to make an entry in the WAN blocklist
Same idea as the regular blocklist threshold, but for WAN blocklist entries.

Once you’ve adjusted the settings to your liking, make sure to save your changes. Your new notification preferences will apply immediately.
