What is a market order?
What is a market order?
Updated this week

A market order is a request for a quick buy or sell transaction that is executed immediately when the stock market is open, at the price the stock is trading at that moment.

How does it work?

Let’s imagine you have $130 USD as "Available to invest" in your Vest account, and you want to buy shares of Company X.

If you want to use your entire "Available to invest" balance ($130 USD) and the shares of Company X are priced at $15 USD at that moment, your market order will be approximately:

Available to invest: $130 USD

______________________________________________ =        8.66 shares

One share of Company X is priced (at that moment): $15 USD

You would buy 8.66 shares of Company X at $15 USD each, spending a total of $130 USD.

Securities trading is offered through Northbound Securities LLC, an affiliate of Vest
