What is a market order?
Updated over a year ago

A market order is a quick buy or sell request that should be executed immediately (when the stock market is open), and at the price the asset is currently trading at - you simply set the amount you want to spend at that moment.

For example: suppose you have US$130 as "Buying Power" in your Vest account and would like to buy shares of Company X.

You log into the Vest app and place a market order to buy the shares of Company X, and indicate how much you would like to spend in total. Let's say you want to use all your available "Buying Power" (US$130) and let's assume that Company X stock is trading at $15 at that moment.

In this case, you will buy approximately 8.66 shares of Company X at $15 each, spending US$130 in total.

Securities trading is offered through Northbound Securities LLC, an affiliate of Vest
