How Many Chairs Do I Need?

Learn how many chairs to rent for your event based on your guest count, event type, ceremony and reception needs, and seating recommendations.

One of the most common questions we receive is, "How many chairs do I need?"

As a general rule, we recommend renting one chair per expected guest, plus a few extra chairs to accommodate unexpected attendees.

Guest Seating

For most events, you'll want:

  • 1 chair per expected guest

  • An additional 5–10% extra chairs, especially for open-house events, graduation parties, or gatherings where the guest count may change.
