Below is an extensive step-by-step guide on creating an Assessment

1. Select existing template or start from scratch

Once you've created a Job, start by clicking the + Select template button in the Job page:

From here, you have two options:

1.1 Job-Specific Templates

We have hundreds of job-specific assessment templates available for you to select. You're able to use the search bar at the top of the page or browser through the scrollable list to find a suitable template:

You're able to preview the tests that form part of the template by hovering over a template and clicking the eye button:

Once you've found a template you'd like to use, simply click on it and hit the purple "Select" button to continue.

✳️ These are great as a starting point or for inspiration, however, it's best to also explore the full test library as we have 400+ tests in our test library and the job-specific templates include only 5 tests per template.

You'll then be taken to the Create assessment page with the tests preselected. From here you'll be able to add/remove tests using the "Edit tests" button or add custom questions, both of which are explained in detail later in the article:

1.2 Select from Test Library

If you'd like to start building your assessment from scratch, use the "+Select from test library" button which will take you to the Create assessment page:

Test Library

You can explore the full test library using the "+Add tests" button - a pop up window will appear and from here you'll be able to:

  • Use the search bar (top of window) to find relevant tests by typing in keywords

  • Change the Test Language to see tests available in different languages (drop down in top right corner)

  • Filter tests using the category filters (for example Hard Skills) - categories on the left hand side

  • Explore the AI suggestions (highlighted in yellow and raised to the top of the list) - you need to make sure you've entered the job description on the job setup stage)

Preview Tests

You can dive deeper and explore what a test has to offer by clicking the Preview eye button next to each test module and then clicking the "Preview example question" button:

Selecting modules is as easy as clicking the Add toggle for the tests you'd like to include and then clicking the purple Use # tests button:

1.3 Custom Questions

In addition to the extensive range of assessment modules we offer, if they don't cover exactly what you're trying to assess you can add custom questions to the assessment:

You have the option to set up questions as:

  1. Free text questions

  2. Selection or multiple choice questions

  3. Video recording questions

1.4 Preview & Reorder

After you are done with the selection of tests from the library and have added any required custom questions, you can preview the Assessment order and drag and drop the order of the tests if needed:

1.5 Save & Create a template

Once you're happy with the selected tests & the order, simply click the Confirm button and you'll be prompted to either:

1. Save the selection of questions & assessment modules as a template

All you need to do is enter a Template name and click the "Add to library" button:

This will then become available for use in future new jobs and would appear in step 1 above and in the Template Library.

2. Use as a one off "custom survey"

If you don't wish to save the set of questions and assessment modules for future use, simply click the "Use as custom survey" button:

You'll then be moved to the next step and will be ready to start inviting candidates.
