Start With Clear Goals
Before introducing AI Tools, decide what success looks like for your school or district.
As teachers begin using AI Tools, consider sharing successful examples through My District. District Administrators can publish AI-generated resources and Ask HMH Assist chat sessions in one shared location, making it easy for educators across the district to discover, copy, and build on high-quality instructional materials.

Rather than asking teachers to explore every tool, focus on one or two instructional priorities that AI can help support. For example, you can focus on a tool or task that:
Saves teacher planning time
Supports differentiated instruction based on your curriculum
Improves communication with families
Starting with a clear purpose helps educators understand how AI fits into everyday work, and provides them a tangible way to integrate the tools into their practice.
Introduce AI Tools Gradually
A phased rollout gives educators time to learn and build confidence.
Consider starting with a small group of educators, such as a grade level or content area team, to help focus admin support. Then expand implementation as they begin sharing successful examples with colleagues.
You may also choose to begin with a few high-impact tools that support common classroom tasks, such as lesson planning, creating instructional materials, or communicating with families.
Before getting started, make sure the appropriate educators have access to AI Tools and are familiar with your district's AI policies.

Support Classroom Use

You can support implementation by:

Having teachers to start with one outcome and one tool. For example, ask teachers to use Text Scaffolder using an upcoming reading to support multilingual learners.
Giving educators the chance to share their struggles and challenges with AI without judgment. New technology should encourage questions and discussion so educators feel confident and informed about the tool and its impact.
Providing opportunities to highlight and sharing successful classroom examples.

Grow Adoption Over Time
