Two-factor authentication keeps your HomeHunter account safer by requiring a one-time code in addition to your password. Follow these steps to enable 2FA, either by text message or an authenticator app. Screenshot placeholders are marked for easy replacement.
1. Open the 2FA Setup Screen
Right after you sign in—or anytime under Settings › Security—you’ll see the prompt to secure your account.
2. Pick Your Verification Method
Choose Verify with Phone or Verify with Authenticator App. Each option walks you through its own short setup.
Option A: Verify with Phone (SMS)
Send Code
We text a six-digit code to the number on file.
Enter Code & Confirm
Type the code and tap Verify Code. You’ll get a success message and head straight to your dashboard.
Option B: Verify with an Authenticator App
Scan QR Code
Open Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or a similar app and scan the on-screen QR code.
Enter 6-Digit Token
The app generates a time-based code—type it in and press Verify Code.
You’ll see a confirmation banner and return to the dashboard.
3. Confirm Your Security Status
Navigate to Settings › Security anytime to view:
Security Item | Status Indicator |
Phone Verification | ✔️ Verified / ❌ Not Verified |
Multi-Factor Authentication | ✔️ Enabled / ❌ Disabled |
A handy help dialog reminds you why 2FA is recommended.
