On Settings › Security, you can see at a glance which verification steps you’ve completed—email, phone, MFA, or external provider sign-in—and take action to lock down your HomeHunter account. Follow the sections below to review your security status, update your password, and enable two-factor authentication.
1. Security Overview
Go to Settings › Security to see your account’s current verification flags:
Security Item | Status Badge | What It Means |
Email Verification | ✔️ / ❌ | You’ve confirmed your primary email address. |
Phone Verification | ✔️ / ❌ | Your phone number is verified for SMS-based security. |
Multi-Factor Authentication | ✔️ / ❌ | An extra code is required at login (SMS or authenticator). |
External Provider | ✔️ / ❌ | You use Google, Apple, or another external login service. |
2. Change Your Password
Below the security overview, you’ll find the Change Password form—unless you signed in with an external provider, in which case it’s disabled.
Enter your Current Password.
Choose a New Password (8+ characters, mix of letters, numbers, and symbols).
Click Change Password.
Look for a success toast or an error message if something goes wrong.
3. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
If MFA is not yet set up, you’ll see a prompt to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
Verify with Phone (SMS)
Tap Verify with Phone.
Enter the 6-digit code we text you.
Confirm to lock in SMS-based 2FA.
Verify with Authenticator App
Tap Verify with Authenticator App.
Scan the QR code in your authenticator (e.g., Google Authenticator).
Enter the time-based code to confirm.
After setup, revisit Settings › Security to see Multi-Factor Authentication marked as ✔️.
4. Disabling MFA
The Security page does not include a “Disable MFA” button. If you ever need to turn off two-factor authentication, please use your account recovery options or contact HomeHunter support for assistance.
