News Feed: Stay Updated on Accounts

View updates on account activity with News Feed items.

News Feed

News Feed displays daily updates of product, CRM, meetings and other activity in your book of business. These can be filtered and viewed at the organisation or account level.

News Feed items apply to accounts or individual users. For example, an account having a meeting with a CSM or a user being created for an account.

News Feed is available on the account page, to see updates on an individual account.

The most recent news items appear on the Overview page. These can be filtered by your accounts, your team’s accounts or all accounts across your organisation, as well as by product (if available).

Understanding Account Activity

See account activity at a glance with News Feed to inform how to improve engagement:

  • See the last time a meeting was held with a key stakeholder, to understand if another one needs to be scheduled.

  • Explore users with recent activity, and consider adding them to a cadence for engaged users.

  • See a timeline of renewal history by looking at CRM News Feed items, and explore their key metrics at that time.

Navigating News Feed

The News Feed displays all news items (all time) across your organisation.

This can be filtered to see news items only for your accounts or your team accounts by clicking the View dropdown. For customers with multi-products, click the View news by dropdown to only see news items for accounts and users that have the specified product. Click on the news item to navigate to the account or the user.

Each news item belongs to a category. The default categories in Hook are:

  • Meetings: External meetings with key stakeholders.

  • Product: Notable product activity by users.

  • CRM: Updates to subscriptions e.g. when an account has renewed.

News Feed can be filtered by category on the Account Page.

Click through the pages to view older news items.

Click the right arrow to view all news items for the account on a single page.

Meetings

An integration with meetings software is required for meetings to appear in News Feed. Find out how to connect Hook to Zoom or Gong.

View news items with the Meetings category to display meetings history with external stakeholders.

Click the information (i) icon on the news item to view meeting details:

  • Name of meeting, with an external hyperlink to the meeting recording in Zoom or Gong.

  • Date and time.

  • Duration.

  • Attendees.

  • Summary (if available).

  • Next steps (if available).

External meeting attendees must exist as Contacts in your organisation’s CRM in order for the meeting to appear in the News Feed.

How is News Feed different from Alerts?

News Feed displays information likely applicable to most accounts, with updates added daily. Alerts are more specific, targeted notifications about activity that is linked to renewal outcomes or upsell potential. For example, a news item could be an account deactivating a user, but an alert would be that an account has deactivated 75% of its users.

Can I add or remove items from News Feed?

News Feed is customisable to your organisation’s needs. Email support@hook.co with a request for new items to be added to News Feed.
