Pre-travel checklist
Check requirements for every country you enter or transit through.
Obtain any required approvals, permits or documentation.
Ensure you have enough medication for your trip. If you need a resupply, arrange any required consultation and bloodwork well in advance.

Medication and sharps:
Bring enough medication for your trip, in its original packaging.
Keep all medication and sharps in your checked luggage. Sharps cannot be taken in your hand luggage.
Bring an empty vial for transferring your medication at your destination - Do not bring transfer vials that already contain medication.
Safely dispose of all opened medication and used sharps before returning to Australia.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Visitors can generally bring up to 3 months’ supply of prescribed testosterone.
Carry a doctor’s letter that includes:
Medication name
Dose and strength
Quantity being carried
Prescribing clinician’s details
🇪🇺 EU/Schengen countries
Rules vary between countries but TRT medications may generally be imported for personal use, subject to quantity restrictions and with appropriate documentation.

TRT is a controlled drug in New Zealand, visitors can bring a maximum of 1 month’s supply of TRT for personal treatment.
Declare the medication on the New Zealand Traveller Declaration when entering New Zealand.
Carry a copy of the Australian prescription or a doctor’s letter confirming treatment, including the medication name and strength.
🇯🇵 Japan
Japan generally allows travellers to bring up to 1 month’s supply of prescription medication for personal use without an Import Confirmation.
Injectable medications and controlled substances may have additional requirements.
