When your event has taken place and your Event Summary email is sent out, you will notice that you have an 'Invoice' attached to the email for Horse Monkey Fees.

The introduction of Stripe as a payment processing has brought about several benefits for Organisers, one of which is the ability to claim back VAT. Because of the journey the payment processing sequence follows, our services are now provided to Organisers regardless of whether or not Horse Monkey fees are Absorbed or Passed on*.

* (When you pass fees on to your clients you are effectively recovering the cost of the Horse Monkey fee in full, the total passed on is £1.50 per transaction)

We know this sounds complicated but it really is not! In plain English it means that you pay us for the Horse Monkey fee first and then if you want to collect it from your clients, you can do. And you can then continue to benefit from our services free of charge.

All of this happens as the payment is processed, so the process itself is seamless to you and the person booking.

We have written more about the payment sequence in this article so if you want to look at this in more detail please click here to understand more on How Stripe Processes Payments.

So all of this means that if you are VAT registered, you can now claim it back and to do so you will need the invoices sent to you. To make invoices clear, you will notice that if you pass the Horse Monkey fee onto riders to pay, this invoice will be stamped with the word PAID with a note confirming 'HM Fee Paid by Riders'.
