Stripe is required to collect, verify, and maintain identity information on the individuals associated with a Stripe account. These requirements come from their regulators and financial partners, and are intended to promote transparency and prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes.

If you have received a warning email from Stripe notifying you of the requirements to ensure your account remains operational, please login to your Stripe account to provide the documents requested. Failing to do so on time will stop payouts and limit your account flow!! Over time you will be asked to refresh your documents, so please take note of any correspondence sent by Stripe, and remember if in doubt, login to your Stripe account directly rather than using a link provided on an email. When you login to Stripe Dashboard and use the notification prompt in the top right corner to upload your documentation.

There are different requirements for companies and individuals, so if If you think the documents required do not apply to you please verify the type of account you have created by going to Settings on the bottom left on your dashboard menu.

If you need to you can update the details of your account here. you will see the requirements change for individuals or sole traders. Your National Insurance number can be used as your Tax ID number.
