Horse Monkey requires all users to provide a valid credit or debit card to confirm a booking. This article explains the process we us to will pre-authorise a card for the total booking charges. Pre-authorisation is a common process to facilitate and ensure the payment process is completed.

A ‘pre-authorisation’ is not a charge. When a payment is authorised, the issuing bank / card, confirms the availability of the requested funds in the card holder’s account to cover charges of the booking and guarantees the amount by holding the pre-authorised amount on the the card holder’s account for up to 7 days. Failure to capture the payment by this time cancels the authorisation and releases the funds.

If before the end of the event you decide to pay using an alternative credit/debit card (different to the one provided on booking); the amount held from the authorised credit/debit card will be released back in 5-7 working days.

Please bear in mind that some issuing banks and building societies may take longer specially for cards issued outside of the United Kingdom. You will be able to process a payment for a pre-authorised pending booking through your account using the same or a different card.

If you have any queries or problems regarding a pre-authorisation after an event has ended, please contact the issuing bank/credit card company. Neither Horse Monkey nor the Organiser of an event accept responsibility for any bank or credit card charges should the card account become overdrawn as a result of this.
