Groups and Items give you an amazing level of flexibility to configure all types of events, they provide an organised structure that will make the booking process easier for your clients.

What is a Group?

A Group is simply a collection of Items which have similar characteristics. For example you could group all the showjumping competition classes, all the dressage competition classes and all the services offered at a show. You could also create several types of tickets to be sold, you could have a VIP tickets group and a Standard ticket group. Or if you are running a clinic you could have a group for Senior riders and a group for Junior riders.

Although the system will automatically create a name based on the discipline or type of item you create, you have the ability to name each group.

Groups give you:

  • Flexibility in an orderly structure.

  • Improves the handling of times and results.

  • Improves sharing times and results with multiple associations even when you on the same event.

  • Provides you with a unique set of parameters suitable for each type of product you want to create.

What is an Item?

An Item can be a competition class, a clinic or camp slot, and arena hire slot, or an actual physical product like a ticket or a bale of shavings that your clients can buy for the event you are running. It is simply a single unit that can be configured in multiple ways to create a product for your event. Due to the characteristics of different types of Items, when you create a product, you have to decide which Group to allocate it to.

So when you have created your Groups and added your Items into each one, you have your classes all set and ready to go.

Why do we need Groups?

The 2 main reasons are:-

  • Groups were designed to give you the flexibility needed to create multiple types of events whilst we give your clients booking an event an orderly structure, which makes their booking experience easy and efficient.

  • Groups allow us to give you results templates and to provide automated feeds to the corresponding Governing body of a sport.

  • Groups allow you to run events which combine multiple disciplines, with affiliated and non affiliated competitions. You can have as many Groups or Items as you may need.

How are Groups organised?

Groups are automatically organised to facilitate the booking process.

The order is the following

  1. Competitions groups

  2. Educations groups

  3. Arena hire groups

  4. Services and tickets
