When you are creating an event you may find that the venue you are using is not on Horse Monkey for selection - this is how you add a new venue yourself:
From the Dashboard menu go to Settings > Venues
Select Create venue button
You will get this pop up box, complete the fields and click Add
Go back to your event
Skip to the Contact Details & Location section
The newly added venue will now be available for selection from the drop down
