Creating custom holiday calendars

By default, Humaans will automatically pull in and assign Public holiday calendars based on employee Places of work. For more on this, see Managing public holidays and office closures.

However, Humaans also allows you to create and manage custom holiday calendars for your time off policies, providing flexibility for our users.


Creating custom public holiday calendars

You can create a custom holiday calendar with the following steps:

  • In the Home menu, click Settings, then click Time away.

  • Under Public Holidays, click Add custom calendar.

  • Name your new calendar, and choose to either build from scratch, or import dates from an existing public holiday calendar.

  • If you choose to import an existing calendar, dates will be imported that can be toggled on / off and edited.

  • Click Add public holiday to add and name additional holiday dates to your calendar.

  • Once you are ready, click Save to confirm the changes.

Once the custom calendar is saved, you can then select it in the PTO policy edit window. For more on adding or editing PTO policies, see Managing PTO policies.

Once added to a policy, all employees on this policy will see the available public holidays in the Who's away calendar, and booking over these dates will not subtract form PTO balances.
