Sharing Tables

Humaans allows you to share your tables with other users, enabling collaboration and alignment while managing your people data.

Accessing the Share menu

You can share access to all data with the following steps:

  • In the Home menu, click Tables.

  • Within the Tables tab, select the desired table.

  • Click Share in the top right-hand corner.

  • Select the collaborator you wish to share the table with, and provide them with the desired access.

  • When you're ready, click Send invites. They will receive an email that they have been invited to collaborate on the table.

Collaborator access

There are three levels of access for Collaborators to choose from:

  • View only: This collaborator can view all data in the table that their workspace permissions allow them to see.

  • Propose changes: This collaborator can make edits to all views in the table, but cannot Apply changes. They can Discard individual changes, including changes made by others.

  • Full access: This collaborator can edit all fields in the Table and Apply changes updating data. They can also manage other Collaborators, add Views and Delete the Table.

Once shared, you will be able to see and manage the access of collaborators by clicking the Share button on the table again. Any Tables that have Collaborators will have a ๐Ÿ‘ฅ symbol in the Tables sidebar.

Table visibility

Collaborators will only have access to data points based on their workspace permissions. If a collaborator does not have the correct permissions to view certain fields/users, they will not appear to them when viewing the table.

For example, imagine you are sharing a table with a manager that contains compensation information of all users within your organisation. The manager has been granted the permissions to see compensation data. However, the manager will only see compensation data of the users within their reporting line.

To learn more about how to grant/remove access of information to certain roles, see managing permissions and roles.
