Your Elite Points don’t just earn you rewards — they determine your position on a weekly leaderboard against other players at your rank. Where you finish decides whether you’re promoted, stay put, or drop down. Let’s look at how it all works! 🏆
👥 Who Are You Competing Against?
🧲 Bronze through Platinum I: You compete in a group of up to 100 players at the same rank. Promotion and demotion are decided by where you finish as a percentage of your group.
🌍 Challenger and Elite share one combined global pool. The top 100 players in the world hold the Elite rank; everyone else in the pool — down to the bottom 40% — is Challenger.
🔢 If your group ends the week with fewer than 100 players, the same percentage-based thresholds still apply.
🔝 How Are Ties Broken?
If two or more players end the week with the same Elite Point total, whoever reached that total first ranks higher. Point totals are compared as whole numbers (rounded down) — so 100.4 and 100.6 both count as “100,” and the tiebreaker is who hit that number first. No two players ever share the same rank position.
🟥 What if I Earn 0 Elite Points?
➖ Your rank on the leaderboard shows “-” and you’re treated as at risk of demotion at the end of the week.
🛡️ The only exception: if you’re already at the lowest rank (Bronze III), you simply stay there.
🌍 For players in the Challenger or Elite pool specifically, earning 0 Elite Points results in automatic demotion to Platinum I.
📶 Leaderboard Loading Issues
If the leaderboard temporarily fails to load, you’ll see an “unavailable” message. No action is needed — the leaderboard refreshes automatically once connectivity is restored.
❓ Common Leaderboard Questions
"Why didn’t I get promoted / why was I demoted?"
Placement depends on how you finished by percentile within your group that week — not on hitting a fixed Elite Point target. You can earn a solid number of points and still be demoted if enough peers earned more, and vice versa.
