Create and manage your characters

Create a character to appear in your video and stay consistent across scenes.

Characters let you create consistent people (or subjects) across your video — ideal for UGC-style ads, explainers, and storytelling.

You can create characters from images or descriptions and reuse them across videos. You can upload an image to create a character that closely resembles you or another individual, or use descriptions to define their appearance and vibe.

How to create a character

  1. Go to the Create tab

  2. Scroll to the ingredients rail

  3. Either:

    1. Click the + button on the right

    2. Or select Characters and click + New Character

  4. Upload an image or write a description Ensure the image meets the app’s requirements, such as file size and format, for optimal results.

  5. Name your character

  6. Select a voice (optional)

  7. Refine and regenerate the character

  8. Save

How to use your character

Use your character in a prompt with @mentions:

You can also start a video directly from a character:

  • Open the ... (more options) menu

  • Select Use in video

Manage your Character

  1. Go to the Create tab

  2. Select the Character from the ingredients rail

  3. Click the ... (more options) menu

From here you can:

  • Use in video

  • Add to brand

  • Edit

  • Delete

Tips

  • Use clear descriptions to define appearance and vibe

  • Upload reference images for more control

  • Keep character names simple so they’re easy to find with @

Notes

  • Characters can be people, animals, or stylized subjects

  • Results may vary depending on description detail and scene complexity
