Use characters in a video

Add characters to your video and control how they appear and speak across scenes.

Characters bring your video to life — whether you're creating UGC-style ads, explainers, or story-driven content.

You can control which characters appear in your video and how they’re used across scenes.

Use characters in your prompt

You can include characters directly in your prompt using @mentions or by naming them.

If you:

  • @mention a character

  • or use the exact character name

That character will be used when your video is generated.

If no character is specified:

  • There will be no consistent characters in your video

  • or characters will be default to No cast

For the most consistent results, use @mentions to explicitly choose your characters.

Confirm characters before generating

After you enter your prompt and generate a script, you’ll see a setup screen where you can review your video before generating.

From here, you can:

  • See which characters have been assigned

  • Click on a character to choose a different one

  • Add your own saved characters

This is where you confirm how each character will appear in your video.

Change characters in an existing video

To update characters after generating:

  1. Open your video

  2. Go to the Script tab

  3. Under Characters, select a character

  4. Choose a different character

Changes will apply when you regenerate or update your video.

Types of characters

You can choose from:

  • Your characters → characters you’ve created and saved

  • Stock characters → ready-to-use options

  • No character → generates a general person without a fixed identity

Tips

  • Use the same character across scenes for consistency

  • Use your own characters for branded or UGC-style content

  • Use stock characters for quick or flexible scenes

  • Use No character when you don’t need a specific person

  • Use @mentions to quickly apply a specific character
