Swap or change a shot

Replace the image in a shot or change what it looks like — through chat or the editor.

Use the chat

Ask the chat to regenerate or change a specific shot:

  • "Regenerate shot 3"

  • "Change shot 2 to show the product on a marble countertop"

  • "Make shot 4 more dramatic"

The chat will regenerate the shot's image based on your instructions.

Use the shot

Click the shot in the storyboard or timeline — it's dropped into chat as @ShotN, with an Edit suggestion chip above the message box for a quick tweak.

Or use the ⋯ menu — hover the shot and open the ⋯ menu:

  • Regenerate — try again. Send it as-is for a fresh take on the same shot, or add a description of what you want different (e.g. "Regenerate @shot3 on a marble countertop") to try again but with a change.

  • Edit — for a small, surgical tweak instead of a full reroll (swap a prop, fix a detail, adjust lighting) rather than regenerating the whole image.

Either way, this pre-fills the chat so you can review or refine before sending.

Upload your own image

You can also replace a shot with your own image. See Upload your own images or videos for how to do this.

Note: If the shot has already been animated, swapping the image will remove the animation. You'll need to re-animate the shot after making changes.
