Multiple Hyperproof users with the same initials causes confusion

This article explains how Hyperproof users can more easily identify people with the same initials by hovering over avatars for tooltips or, ideally, uploading unique profile photos for clearer identification across the app.

Each user in Hyperproof has an avatar, which by default is their initials. The avatar is used throughout the product to identify which user is the owner of an item or is on the member list, also known as the facepile, for an item. If multiple users have the same initials, it is difficult to tell which user the avatar represents. Here are some tips to help you more easily identify users with the same initials.

Tips

Solution 1

If you put your mouse pointer over the avatar, a tooltip will pop up to show the user name.

Solution 2 - Pro Tip

The preferred solution is to have each user upload a picture to their user profile.

  1. In the upper right of the Hyperproof Overview page, click the user avatar.

  2. Click Edit Profile.

3. Click Update and choose an image to upload.

4. Now the user profile has a unique and easily identifiable image for their avatar.

You can easily tell who the owner or member is in different areas of the app, such as on the facepile.

Or on a program tile in the Programs dashboard.
