Overview
When you request a password reset, the Hyperproof login page at https://hyperproof.app should always display a blue Sign in button directly under the Password field. This button appears regardless of whether you have entered values into the fields.
If you click the link in your reset email and the Sign in button is missing on the login page, a corporate security tool may be interfering with the authentication process.
Key benefits
Identify why the Sign in button is missing during a password reset.
Understand how URL rewriting tools like Safe Links impact Hyperproof.
Access successful workarounds to regain account access.
Troubleshooting the password reset flow
Identify the cause
If you click the Reset password link in your email and the resulting URL begins with a prefix like https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com... or https://urldefense.proofpoint.com, your security system has modified the link to protect users from malicious content. This rewritten URL disrupts the Hyperproof authentication flow, which prevents the Sign in button from appearing.
Note: As an example, Safe Links is a feature in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 that rewrites URLs to protect users from malicious content.
Recommended resolutions
To resolve this issue and successfully reset your password, try the following steps:
Use a different browser. Attempt the password reset sequence using a different web browser.
Use a "clean" device. The most effective workaround is to complete the password reset on a device or network that does not use these restrictive security filters.
Temporarily disable security tools. If your IT team approves, you can turn off the security tool to complete the reset, then turn it back on once you have logged in.
Important: Always consult your IT department before attempting to disable corporate security features.
