Communities

Overview

Valuable networking opportunities can be missed when there is no organized way to connect meaningfully, even though there are relevant people present. That’s why we’re introducing 'Communities, so you can utilize our app and platform at non-iConnections events to network and schedule meetings with other members.

Finding Communities on iConnections platform

Navigate to the 'Events' section of the platform or App. In addition to iConnections' proprietary events, you'll now find industry-standard events not affiliated with iConnections. These are the Communities you can join by clicking “I’ll be there”:

Letting others know you’ll attend that event

After clicking “I’ll be there”, you’ll then be asked to fill out and confirm relevant information about yourself and your role.

*Please note that this does not register you for the non-iConnections event. To do so, you must visit their proprietary website. This functionality simply enables you to notify other members of your attendance, giving you the ability to view other attending members and send them meeting requests.

After that, you'll receive a confirmation message. Your attendance will now be visible to other iConnections members, allowing you to see all those who have joined the community and are also attending the event.

Viewing who is attending the event

Once you've indicated that you're attending the event, you can now browse other iConnections community members who are also attending.

On the platform navigation bar, simply click on: Funds or Allocators > Event name.

On the app, click on: Events > Event name > Attendees.

Now, you'll not only see the iConnections members attending the event, but you can also filter them based on your strategy, allowing you to connect with those that align with your business objectives.

Sending messages and meeting requests

To ensure seamless use for our users, sending messages and meeting requests will function in the same way it would were you attending an iConnections event. This means that after filtering and identifying a potential contact, you can simply send them a meeting request adding ideal day, time and location:

Managing your schedule

Just like at an iConnections event, you can check your schedule on-site by accessing the "Schedule" section in your app. This enables you to conveniently organize your daily agenda. You can also make changes on the go and suggest any adjustments to your appointments.

Be sure to sync your calendar as well, so that all your confirmed iConnections meetings are reflected in your Outlook or Google calendar. To learn how to integrate your third-party calendars, check out our Calendar Sync Article.

Networking tip: Sharing business cards

You can also utilize our "Business Cards" feature during third-party events to exchange contact information with other attendees. To discover how to share and scan business cards, check out our Business Cards Article.
