Tutorial 3 - Site Setup and Logistics

Step 1- Adding Generated Models to your world

Take a look around your Simple Bridge and find an area that you would want as a Laydown Area, Worksite and Delivery route

Over this tutorial we are going to set up these areas for your project.

Take a moment to plan out these areas

Step 2 - Create an automation for your Laydown Area.

  1. Select Automation menu

  2. Locate the Elevated Pad in the menu.

  3. In the inspector name the Pad Automation - Laydown

  4. Click the create button to activate the shape and draw out your pit extents.

  5. Press Enter.

  6. Press generate and wait for generation: This may take a few minutes, you can check progress via the notifications menu in the top right.

Step 3 - Place office building, toilets and other facilities

3a - Create external site fencing.

  1. Select the "Earthworks task" by clicking on it in the timeline. (it should appear in the blue bar at the bottom)

  2. Select Path global menu on the left.

  3. Click the create path button to activate the path too.

  4. Draw your line and hit enter.

  5. Optional enter meter width, check/uncheck curved option, and name your path

  6. Under Library Resources menu, click and place the Fence object into the world

  7. Select the fence resource, In the inspector window under Resource Deployment; Navigate to Zones; Assigned Zone.

  8. Within Assigned Zone find your newly created path and hit enter.

  9. Within Resource Deployment; Allocation; Increase Allocation Count until the Path adequately filled with fences.

3b - Mobilse office and other site equipment

Next mobilse some equipment by placing it into the world, and using the move and rotate tool to position it on site.

  1. Mobile Office x 3

  2. Ablution Block x 2

  3. Large Skip Bin

  4. Tyre Wash

Step 4 - Create 3 work zones.

  1. Select Zone Menu

  2. Select either the Create Box, or Create Polygon

  3. Create points on the world you wish to create a work zone, as well as the vertical height and then hit enter.

  4. Within the Shapes; Zone tab name your work zone and repeat 3 times.

  5. You can edit the zone by clicking on eidt in the inspector, and either editing faces, or points of the polygon.

Step 5- Annotate the work zone, and office

  1. Select Annotations Menu

  2. Select Create Annotations

  3. Select where in the world you’ll like the annotation to be displayed

  4. Select the annotation within the world to edit it

  5. Under the inspector window style/edit the annotation as needed
