What is an Path
Tobe Builder allows users to place paths into the 3D model space. Paths can be task-specific or global, paths associated with a task will appear and disappear at the start and end of their assigned task, similar to resources. They can be used to delineate specific path through a work area, or along project or public roads and like annotations and workzones are relivant to a specific task. A task can have multiple paths associated with it, and you can also assign the same path to multiple tasks.
By default new work zones will be assigned to the current task, however after creation they can be un-assoicated from the task via the "Remove from task" button in the action section of the inspector.
Paths can also be used to bulk layout resources along a specific path such as fences, or barriers.
Selection & Filtering
Paths, like all objects in the Tobe Builder scene view, can be selected in multiple ways:
Scene Selection: If an path already exists, it can be selected by simply clicking on it in the scene view.
From the Inspector: The inspector has a path section from which you can select each work zone associated with that task.
From the Path Global Menu: Paths can be selected by clicking on them in the path menu. The menu can be filtered by color, name, or date created, as well as via text search.
All Paths can also be globally hidden via the visibility menu in the top left of the scene.
Creation & Editing
When creating a new path, you must first select the task you wish to associate the path with.
Creating new paths
Once the correct current task is selected, open the path window via the icon on the left-hand menu and click the "Create Path" button. Then, place the path into the scene by clicking the each point which makes up the path. The vertex, edge and angle snapping can be used to generate accurate path placement.
The default name will be displayed, after which the title, and color can be edited for each path from within the inspector.
Editing Existing Paths
Paths can be edited at any time by selecting the path from the global menu or via the inspectors or scene selection and clicking edit in the inspector.
There are two modes when using the path edit tool, draw mode allows you to add a new point to the end of the path, or hit backspace to remove the last point from the end of the path. This is the mode that activates when you first draw a new path. The second mode is the edit mode, which allows you to select any individual point, and move or remove it, as well as click any point along the line to insert a new point into the line between two existing points. You can switch between draw and edit via the line tools at the bottom of the scene window when the tool is active.
Associate with none, a single or multiple tasks
Paths by default are associated with the current task upon creation. Users can remove this association via the "remove from task' action, or they can create additional associations to other tasks by selecting each task in turn, and clicking "add to task" from the action menu of the inspector.
