Introduction
Thank you for considering the integration of your Planning Center CRM with our Prayer Platform™. This integration provides a smooth and simple authorization experience for your existing Planning Center users, as well as adding all new prayer wall users into your Planning Center database and synchronizing the information automatically between the two systems.
The integration allows existing users to be authorized quickly in just three simple steps, and for new users to be added to your Planning Center CRM immediately.
This guide is designed to provide clarity on how the integration works, how the data will be synchronized between our Prayer Platform™ and your Planning Center CRM, and what the flow will be for new users and existing users.
Connecting the Integration
You will only need to connect Planning Center to your CRM.
We have prepared a quick and easy guide with only a few steps.
Synchronization of information between the systems
Here is an explanation of how the information will be synchronized between the two systems in the cases of a) new users signing up for the prayer wall and that were never added to your Planning Center CRM before, and b) new prayer wall users that are existing Planning Center users.
Planning Center CRM will be synchronized automatically for new and existing users. Here's how it will work.
New Users:
If the new users were never a part of your Planning Center database but came up as a part of our new user growth campaign or any other ways via prayer wall, they will have the ability to create their prayer request or praise report. After they write their post
and click Submit
we will ask them to enter their email address
After they enter their email address, we send them a verification code via email asking them to enter a 4-digit code. This ensures that you will not be getting any spam bots or unknown/fake users.
After entering the four-digit code, new users will be asked to add their profile information as well as your new user registration fields.
After that, they will see a confirmation message that tells them that their account has been created and their post is based on your moderation settings and is either waiting for approval by your team (in case of manual moderation) or is live and visible for all other users (in case of automatic moderation).
The new user's profile will be added to your Planning Center database immediately.
After the user is authorized the first time, they won’t need to enter their login information, as their session will be stored, and they will be authorized unless they log out manually or try using the prayer wall from another device. This way, the login/authorization process will be super simple as they’ll just need to enter their email and enter the 4-digit code!
Existing Users:
For users that already have an account in your Planning Center when entering the first time, they’ll be asked to enter their email address.
While receiving the authorization email and entering the 4 digits
the integration will check and get that user's information from your Planning Center and will pre-fill their information and ask the user to confirm their information and complete the initial registration with the prayer platform.
After the user is authorized the first time, they won’t need to enter their login information, as their session will be stored, and they will be authorized unless they log out manually or try using the prayer wall from another device. This way, the login/authorization process will be super simple as they’ll just need to enter their email and enter the 4-digit code!
Syncing Users’ Posts into Planning Center User Profiles
In addition to syncing user accounts, Prayer Platform can also synchronize users’ prayer posts directly into their profiles in Planning Center as profile notes. This is an optional setting that gives pastors and ministry teams deeper visibility into prayer activity at the individual level.
How it works
If you want users’ prayer requests and posts to be saved in Planning Center, you can enable this option in the integration settings. Once enabled, you will be asked to:
• Turn on post synchronization for Planning Center.
• Select a Planning Center Notes Category where these posts should be stored.
Most churches create a dedicated notes category such as “Prayer Wall” or “Prayer Requests” in Planning Center to keep this information organized and easy to review.
What gets synced
After this setting is enabled:
• Every prayer request or post submitted by a user on the Prayer Platform is automatically added to that user’s profile in Planning Center.
• The post appears under the selected notes category, attached to the correct person record.
• This applies to both existing users and new users created through the Prayer Platform integration.
Why this is useful
This additional synchronization allows your team to:
• See prayer history directly inside each person’s Planning Center profile.
• Better understand spiritual needs and engagement over time.
• Equip pastors, prayer teams, and care teams with context when following up with individuals.
This feature is fully optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time from the integration settings.
Modifying your Integration
To make changes to your Planning Center integration, go to the Prayer Platform™ dashboard (here’s how to find it)
Click on Integrations in the main menu
select Planning Center and click "Manage"
There you’ll be able to remap fields or make any other changes.
