When a Custom QA rule fails, it tells you what is wrong and where. Quick Fix goes a step further: Where Custom QA can see exactly what needs to change, it offers to make the change for you.
Correcting a failure by hand always works, and for anything that needs judgment, it is still the right move. Quick Fix is for the rest—the capitalization, the spelling, the missing attribute—where there is one obvious answer and typing it yourself is just time.
Where you’ll find it
Quick Fix lives on the Custom QA tab of a rendering report. Run your QA check as normal, and any failed rule that can be corrected automatically will carry its fixes with it.
A failed rule lists every occurrence it found. Each one shows the current text beside the text that would replace it, so you can see the change before accepting it.
Each occurrence is listed with the text being replaced and what replaces it. The first has already been applied, so it offers Undo.
Applying a fix
Every occurrence is separate. You are never forced to take all of a rule’s changes to take one of them.
Control | What it does |
Fix | On a single occurrence. Applies that one, and nothing else. |
Fix All | On the rule header. Applies every occurrence under that rule at once. |
Undo | Replaces the Fix button once an occurrence has been applied and restores the original text. |
A rule turns green only once every occurrence has been applied. Fixing two of three leaves it failing, which is deliberate—the rule is still broken in the email.
Nothing is saved until you save
Applying a fix changes the working copy in the editor, exactly as typing the change yourself would. It does not touch your creative.
Fixes are staged as unsaved edits: The editor header shows Unsaved edits and the Save Changes button carries a change indicator until you press it. Until then, you can apply, undo and reconsider as much as you like, and leaving without saving leaves your creative exactly as it was.
ℹ RE-RUN AFTER YOU SAVE Saving creates a new version. Click Re-run to score the saved HTML and confirm the rules you fixed now pass—and that nothing else broke on the way. |
When a rule has no Fix button
Two things can explain it.
The rule isn’t one that can be fixed automatically. Where a failure has no single correct answer—rewriting a subject line, softening a claim, choosing a better image—Custom QA shows you what is wrong and leaves the wording to you. Rules like that never show a Fix button.
Quick Fix is switched off for this brand. It is on by default, but you can turn it off per brand. Go to the Custom QA settings page and check the Enable Fix toggle in the top-right of the Rule List, beside Enable Reference.

When to use it, and when not to
Quick Fix is best for mechanical failures: a product name spelled two ways, a missing alt attribute, a trademark symbol outside its tags. Take those without much thought.
Where a rule needed judgment to write, it needs judgment to fix. Read the proposed change carefully before you accept it, and if the wording matters to someone else on your team, make the edit yourself instead.
✦ TIP — READ THE REPLACEMENT, NOT JUST THE RULE NAME The occurrence rows exist so you can see the exact before-and-after. A rule can be right that something is wrong and still propose a replacement you would not have chosen. |
Frequently asked questions
Does applying a fix change my creative straight away?
No. It edits the working copy in the editor, the same as making the change by hand. Nothing reaches your creative until you press Save Changes.
I clicked Fix, but the rule is still failing. Why?
A rule passes only when every occurrence under it has been applied. Check the list for any that still show a Fix button, or use Fix All to take them together.
Why does a failed rule have no Fix button?
Either that failure has no single correct answer, or Enable Fix is off for this brand. See “When a rule has no Fix button” above.
Can I undo a fix after saving?
Undo applies to the unsaved working copy. Once you have saved, use the version dropdown to compare against the previous version, or edit the HTML directly.
Do I have to re-run QA after applying fixes?
Yes—click Re-run after saving. This keeps the results in sync with the current version of the HTML.
Who can turn Quick Fix on or off?
The Enable Fix toggle sits on the Custom QA settings page, alongside your rule library, and applies to the brand selected in the top-right brand switcher.
