So far this hasn't happened yet. But just in case, this KB article was created.
If the vehicle turns off, or the battery dies during the installation. Not to worry, just recharge the battery (or replace it if needed) and the update will continue from where it left off when you go to re-install it.
However, if the off chance the update does crash and the radio is unresponsive, the procedure below should hopefully restore it to how it was.
*Note* The update is the OEM File. If the Nissan radio crashes/bricks during installation, this is a result of the radio having an internal problem prior to the update.
Have the customer try these steps with you on the phone whenever you can get a hold of them:
RESTORE ALL FACTORY SETTINGS when you think CMU is Bricked from any failed Firmware Updating....
..... or
RESTORE ALL FACTORY SETTINGS when TOUCH-SCREEN is Black or Blank or RADIO Only Sound is On....
..... or
RESTORE ALL FACTORY SETTINGS when TOUCH-SCREEN Fuel Economy Monitor is incorrect or not working AFTER Update....
YOUR '''INPUTS MUST BE PRECISE''' IF YOU HAVE A 'BLANK' or ' BRICKED' or Blind CMU....!
Put car into ACC (Accessory Mode, Amber Light).
Wait 1 minute for Connect (CMU) to settle even if you can not see Touch-Screen as it is Blank or Black (Blind).
PRESS "Home Button" above Commander Knob ONCE.
TURN Silver Command Wheel 2 clicks to the Right.
PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
SLIDE-PUSH move Commander Knob 6 times to the Right.
TURN Silver Command Wheel 5 clicks to the Right.
PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
TURN Silver Command Wheel 1 click to the Right.
PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
