Updating UCQ Maps (Canadian Uconnect 4 8.4")

Map Updates need to be purchased over the phone, not through website

The Canadian Uconnect UCQ is equal and offers the same features as the USA Uconnect UAQ. The only difference is that the UCQ was manufactured for Canada and the UAQ was manufactured for the USA. Both feature full navigation support of North America (Including Mexico) Sirius XM, AM/FM. There is functionally no difference whatsoever between the UAQ and UCQ. The only way to tell is through part number which model it is.

The one issue we find with the UCQ, despite being identical to the UAQ, is that updating the maps through www.navigation.com (HERE MAPS) requires you to call them to order the map update. While the UAQ's Map Update is purchasable through the website's checkout. This might be due to making sure the wrong update doesn't get accidentally ordered.

So rest assured, the map updates are still purchasable, just follow the instructions below to place an order with HERE MAPS for the map update if the radio is a UCQ model.

BEFORE CALLING - please have your Model & Model Year and follow Steps below to get your system Application Version:

- Application Versions that include 'QR-39.5' or 'PR-40.1' or higher likely have a map update available

- Application versions that include the letters IR/JR/LR/MR: There is no map update available yet

STEP 1:

• Put the system into ‘Dealer Mode’ by:

-For 8.4 inch Systems:

• Hold the Driver Side Temp Up and Temp Down and Front Defrost buttons down at the same time for 7-10 seconds. ‘Dealer Mode’ screen should appear

-For 12 inch Systems:

• Hold bottom left and bottom right corners of your system touch-screen at the same time (all the way at the edges avoiding pressing any actual buttons) for about 10 seconds. ‘Dealer Mode’ screen should appear.

STEP 2:

• Touch ‘ System Information’

• Touch ‘ Radio Part Information.’ In the 'Radio Part Information' Screen, you will see a line called 'Application Version'

• Take a picture of this information or write it down exactly as it appears

• Use the back arrow or ‘X’ at top right of screen to exit Dealer Mode
