All Uconnect Radios require an acclimation period for the BCM and the Radio to handshake. Older generation Uconnects, such as the Mygig RER/RHR/RHB/RBZ just need a couple of key cycles if the wrong splash screen / Logo shows up (Vehicle is a RAM, but the screen says JEEP).
Uconnect 3's the RA3 and RA4 are the same as above, just a couple of key cycles are required.
Any of the Uconnect 4 series radio units, such as the UAQ, UAS, UAG, UAV and UAX will require an acclimation period when first installed. Key cycles may not force acclimation like the older generation Uconnects. These require time in the vehicle while the vehicle is OFF.
Uconnect 5 series radio units, such as the UBD, UBC, UBL, UBQ, undergo a fairly quick acclimation period. Generally speaking, the radio should acclimate in less than half an hour. But there are some rare cases where it might be advised to give the radio overnight to sleep in the vehicle.
Certain features may not be present until the acclimation period has ended, or odd activity can occur. Acclimation generally completes over a few hours or may take overnight.
If these symptoms show upon immediate installation, please leave the radio in the vehicle and turn the vehicle off and allow a sleep cycle (Leaving the vehicle alone with the newly installed radio with the vehicle off for a period of time).
Sirius XM Icon is not present below AM and FM
Rear Camera does not activate when shifting to reverse
Wrong splash screen on start-up (It may say Jeep when the vehicle is a RAM)
Radio might say "Radio Locked" on the display
The radio may act like a ghost is touching the screen
