RA4/RA3 Radio unit won't power on?
After installing your 8.4 RA4 or RA3 head unit, and turning on your vehicle, you should get a splash screen right away.
If your screen is completely black, with no backlight, with the engine on, put your ear near your speakers and listen for a low whine/screech. If you hear this, it means that your radio is getting power but no CAN signal from your vehicle's BCM.
You'd want to have your vehicle checked at a dealer.
911 Message constantly showing up on the RA4/VP4 radio unit?
If you have an issue with your RA4/VP4 unit, where the 911 error message constantly pops up during
a drive cycle and your GPS will not navigate from these locations:
North American vehicle -San Antonia, Texas
Canadian vehicle - Rueberry, Montreal, Canada
This is a physical issue with the 911 & GPS system of the RA4/VP4 radio and will require a repair. Please reach
out to our repair/tech support, team at 407-977-5100 option 1, to set up a radio repair.
Factory Reset RA3/RA4
To reset the unit to factory defaults please do the following:
Navigate to Settings the the app drawer (should be on the second page)
Scroll all the way down to System Information
Scroll all the way down to Reset to Factory Defaults.
*NOTE*
RA3 radios with Navigation enabled will LOSE the Navigation APP on the radio if the Factory Reset is performed. If you do not know if your radio is an RA3 or an RA4 and the radio DOES have navigation, an easy way to determine is to back out to your Radio Menu and switch to FM. The radio will prompt you stating it will restart in two minutes. After pressing okay, please be patient and wait. It may appear it's not doing anything, but after two minutes the unit should restart and most likely show the SRT logo.
