When doing a Sync 2 or Sync 3 APIM replacement (The vehicle already has a Sync 2 or Sync 3, but the APIM is being replaced due to the current APIM being defective) the APIM is programmed to the as built data based off of the VIN.
When first installed, the back-up camera might be static (guidelines do not move with the steering wheel) while the original APIM had dynamic (guidelines move with the steering wheel). This isn't that the APIM was mis-programmed, this simply means that the APIM just needs to acclimate for a quick moment. Normally a key cycle will correct this. Simply turn the vehicle off, open and shut the door, and wait for the EVIC cluster to turn off... Then start the vehicle again and the back-up camera guidelines should move with the steering wheel.
Note: If the vehicle had static guidelines, this will not give them dynamic as we are programming for the as built data.
Note 2: If the vehicle did NOT have a back-up camera factory, and one was added and programmed to the vehicle OUTSIDE of Ford programming themselves, this will not show on the as built data. If ordering a replacement APIM, if any programmed features were added, such as back-up camera outside of Ford, we must be told that when the APIM is being ordered.
