How to Add GS1 Codes to Your Spocket Products

The Spocket marketplace can sync with Amazon storefronts.

To enable this feature, your product listings must contain the Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs), also known as GS1 codes.

Here's a step-by-step guide to adding GS1 codes to your Spocket products:

  1. Export your products into a CSV file from your Spocket dashboard. You can do this by clicking on the "Export CSV" button on the top right corner of the Products page.

Export CSV button on the Products page of the Spocket supplier dashboard
  2. Open the CSV file and add a new column for GS1 codes. You can use the format "GTIN" for this column.

  3. Enter the GS1 code for each product in the corresponding cell under the GTIN column.

Product CSV with a GTIN column of GS1 codes added
  4. Save the CSV file with the changes you made.

  5. Email the completed CSV to suppliers@spocket.co.

  6. Wait for the Spocket team to verify your GS1 codes and update your product catalog accordingly.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to take your business to the next level!

How do retailers find my products?

Retailers find products by searching and browsing the Spocket catalog. They can narrow their search with filters, such as shipping (where products ship from and to), costs, supplier, and premium or best-selling products, as well as by category and subcategory.

Products with free US shipping are also listed under the "Free US Shipping" filter, and newly uploaded products get noticed when retailers sort by newest products.

To help retailers find your products:

  • Set an accurate category and subcategory for each product.

  • Use clear, targeted product titles, relevant tags and keywords that retailers would search for.

  • Add high-quality product images.

I'm not a supplier yet. Can I take a look at Spocket's dropshipper platform?

Yes, of course! To view the Spocket for Dropshipper app, please sign up for a free Spocket account.

If you're already a Spocket supplier and would like to find your own products, please use the advanced filter and search by your given supplier alias.

What are supplier aliases?

All suppliers are given aliases as Spocket facilitates all conversations between suppliers and retailers.

That said, most of the time retailers would still be able to know who the suppliers are from the product photos as in the example screenshot below.

We encourage both suppliers and retailers to communicate through Spocket as we are always able to facilitate inquiries and claims in a much more streamlined and objective manner.

This also allows both parties to only deal with 1 agent (i.e. Spocket) for all inquiries and issues they experience on Spocket, and allows more time to focus on what really matters - your business operations!

How do I know which products were pushed to retailers' stores?

As a supplier, you can view the unique number of retailers that have pushed certain products to their online stores. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Log in to the Spocket for Suppliers app

  2. Select My Products from the menu on the left

  3. Under Pushed Count, you can view the number of unique retailers that have pushed the product to their online stores

How can I communicate with my retailer?

Spocket lets retailers get in touch with you directly after they've placed an order to find out if there are any problems with the order. Conversations are grouped by Retailer Name and Order Number, so you can easily address your concerns with a specific order for a retailer.

Notifications

If you receive a new message while you're on another tab, you will receive a toast notification so that you can easily view the new message.

If you receive new messages when you're away from your Spocket dashboard, you will receive an email notification reminding you of the new messages received from your retailers.

Viewing and Replying to Messages

You can view your retailer's messages by logging in to your supplier app dashboard and clicking "My Messages".

Reporting Issues

If you're having trouble communicating with your retailer and need more help, you can talk to the Spocket Customer Support team by clicking the Support button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Community Guidelines

  • Clicking on any suspicious third-party links sent to you

  • Spamming with multiple tickets without any real issues

Starting your business at Spocket is an exciting opportunity to expand your distribution channels to 500,000+ retailers.

Start earning in 3 simple steps: upload products, publish products, fulfill orders and get paid

Here are a few ways you can improve your sales on Spocket:

Offer Free US Shipping

Products with free US shipping will be listed under the "Free US Shipping" filter and thus get more eyeballs from the retailers. Remember that high shipping costs relative to the item price can raise a red flag to the retailers and make them less likely to sell your products.

Fast response on inquiries

Retailers may request more information about your products. Fast and reliable communication, as well as great customer service, encourages retailers to adopt your products.

High-quality product photography

High-quality images are critical to customers' purchase decisions. Bonus points if you have lifestyle photos on your product catalog that our retailers can utilize as their campaign photos.

Product Titles

Make sure that your product titles are targeted and relevant. Retailers like titles that are "ready-to-market"; in other words, stay away from doing a 50-word messy title. Make sure that your items are still clearly identifiable from your title. If you're selling candles, a title that says "Watermelon-scented Soy Candle" is better than just "Watermelon Scent".

Product Tags

Having relevant tags on Spocket will connect relevant retailers to your relevant products. Stay away from putting irrelevant tags and focus on providing a good product-searching experience for retailers. This typically results in more visits to your store and ultimately sales for you as a supplier.

Category and subcategory

Edit your items and ensure that your items are categorized and subcategorized accurately so retailers can easily find them.

Uploading new products

Uploading new products regularly gives you more chances of being noticed when retailers are sorting by newest products.

Publishing more products

Having a larger number of SKUs will increase the likelihood of product adoption, so be sure to activate as many products as you can on Spocket.

The retail price markup is the suggested retail price for retailers.

While retailers are not required to follow the suggested retail price, it provides a helpful pricing benchmark for retailers' pricing strategy.

Why aren't my products showing up after integrating with Shopify?

There are a few reasons why products might not successfully import from Shopify:

  • Product titles are under 5 characters, or product titles are missing. Titles over 50 characters will get truncated; however, this does not cause an import issue

  • Products are missing descriptions

  • Products are missing images (i.e. if you only set images on product variants and not on the main product)

  • Product images are over 10MB

  • The product price is zero

Note: Shopify offers apps that enable users to generate product descriptions and/or create variants. However, any information inputted through a third-party app or plugin will not synchronize with Spocket.

Should you encounter any issues with your Shopify integration, please contact our customer support immediately.
