Viewing user activity and access logs
Updated over a week ago

You can view access and activity logs of all users within your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) domain. These logs provide the user name, when and where they logged in to the CHR and if the login was successful or failed. For example, you may want to audit when a user is logging into their CHR account (including after hours), when they last logged in, and if they logged in off-site.

The activity log also includes which patient chart (patient name and identification) the user accessed as well as the actions they performed in the charts.

Only the TELUS CHR Support account can download and access users' activity and access logs. Contact the TELUS Health support team through the support chat for more information.

⚠️ Important: Because these logs may contain confidential patient information, they are sent as a password-protected ZIP file and the logs are provided in PDF and CSV file format. Access and activity logs are protected from modification, unauthorized use and any other business override events by a restricted access policy.

📌 Note: You must have a spreadsheet application installed on your computer to open a CSV file (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers etc.).

You can also view the activity and access logs for a patient chart (refer to Viewing activity and access logs for a chart).

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Account.

2. Under Users List, find the user whose CHR activity you want to audit and click the history icon next to their name.

The Request Access and Activity Logs window appears.

3. In the Sending Email field, type the email address where you want to send the log file.

4. In the Password for File field, type a password for the zipped file that will be sent.

5. Click Apply and then OK to continue.

You will receive the password-protected ZIP file to the email specified.
