Editing letters

Edit saved letters before sending them

Updated over a week ago

You can edit a letter that was saved. For example, you can start a letter (see Creating letters from encounters and Creating letters from patient charts) and finish it later. Or, a provider may create and save a letter and their staff selects the recipient and sends it later.

📌 Note: Your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) administrator may restrict letter editing so that only the original creator can modify the letter (from the main menu, Settings > Referral > Letter Editing).

Steps

1. Open the letter to edit using one of these methods:

  • From the patient chart, click Start/Open > Letters and then click the letter to edit from the list of existing patient letters.

  • From the patient chart dashboard's Quick Menu, click Letters (see Navigating the patient dashboard) and then click the letter to edit from the list of existing patient letters.

  • From a message, click the attached letter.

The Edit Letter window opens.

2. Make the required modifications (such as choosing a recipient, deleting some encounter notes, or modifying patient data) and then click Save,

4. Send the letter using the buttons at the bottom of the letter, as described in Creating letters from encounters and Creating letters from patient charts.
