Improvements

Sending Qnaires with appointment reminders

You can now add Qnaires to your pre-appointment reminders, in addition to the existing pre-visit Qnaires that are sent to patients with their appointment confirmation. This is beneficial for clinics who want to send a Qnaire a few hours before an appointment, such as a COVID-19 Qnaire to ensure patients are safe to attend the clinic in person. This also applies to group visits. See Customizing appointment reminders for an appointment type and Managing appointment reminders for a single appointment for more information.

Filtering your Inbox and Schedules by selected user groups

When creating or modifying user groups, you can now choose which user groups appear in your Inbox and Schedules group filter (see Filtering your Inbox and Filtering your schedule for more information).

This is helpful for clinics that have many user groups. It is easier to search for and select the desired group from a shorter list. See Creating user groups for more information.

Hyperlinking web addresses and emails in the CHR

When you add a website or email address to a message, they are now converted to a hyperlink when you press Return {Enter}. For example when you send a message to a patient with a website address, they can now click on the link to open it. Previously the address was not a link and had to be copied and pasted.

This also applies to other documents in the CHR such as encounter notes, admin notes, templates.

📌 Note: If you have referenced a website or email address in your current clinic templates, you must update the templates. For example, if you reference a website in a message template, edit the template and press Return {Enter} after the website address to convert it to a hyperlink.

Improvements to searching for facilities in CHR Contacts

When you search for a facility in your CHR Contacts, the system now searches facilities by the name, address, phone, and fax number, instead of just the facility name. For example, this is helpful when you have multiple Shoppers Drug Mart facilities saved in your Contacts (address book), you can now type the address to easily find the one you need. See Searching for facilities or contacts in your "address book".

As part of this change, the search option (beside the search field) Facility name changed to Facility.

Background of all electronic labs is now white

We removed the yellow background in all electronic labs. Lab results will now appear in your inbox with a white-only background. This makes it easier to read, print or fax.

Fixes

Below is a list of bugs we identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.

  • When prescribing one of your frequent medications that was originally added as a frequent via Settings > Prescriptions, the form and dose information did not populate on the prescription.

  • When a medication was saved in My Frequents and then subsequently used in a prescription, the DIN (drug interaction number) did not populate on the prescription and therefore was not included in the drug interaction analysis.

  • When you modified or deleted questions in a Qnaire, you could not navigate to the Questions section. The Getting Questions… window never disappeared.

  • A black screen appeared when you attempted to preview any aspect of a newly created or modified Qnaire.

  • In Qnaire’s Custom Scoring, when you modified the name of a section’s score, the name immediately returned to the default: Total Score.

  • When managing patient data alerts and adding expiry dates, Units, there were two year options to choose from. The one year unit option was displayed in seconds.

  • From the schedule, in the appointment reminder section of appointments, the message that the reminder was sent appeared in HTML code.

  • For Manitoba clients using the Home Clinic Enrolment Integration, the Referring Practitioner, Prefix, Primary Location, and Gender Identify fields were not displayed and saved correctly in the patient’s chart when editing demographics from the home clinic remediation message.

What's new in the CHR help

Here’s what we recently added to the CHR help (help.inputhealth.com):

Two-factor authentication
We highly recommend adding additional layers of security to your CHR account, reducing the possibility of unauthorised access to your account and clinic patient database. We augmented our help around two-factor authentication.

Allergies

Learn how to record a patient's allergies, how to edit existing allergies and delete allergies entered in error. See our updated Allergies section of our help.

Scheduled time of update: Evening of December 7, 2021

No preparation is required in advance of the update. All CHR update activities are managed by TELUS Health via a zero-downtime rolling deployment in the CHR’s cloud infrastructure, which allows the system to operate without interruption of service during updates.

No data migration is required as part of this update.
