Adding a new provider (Ontario)
Updated over a week ago

If a new provider joins your clinic, you can set them up in a few easy steps.

📌 Note: There is a charge for each provider who uses the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR). New providers will be automatically included in your TELUS CHR account bill going forward. For more information, see Understanding your CHR account bill.

Adding a new provider in the CHR involves the following tasks:

  1. Inviting the user (administrator).

  2. Signing up for CHR (provider accepts email invitation).

  3. Assigning a role and permissions to the new user (administrator).

  4. Setting up the provider's schedule (administrator or provider).

  5. Setting up MDBilling integration by completing this Google form (administrator or provider). You will need the provider's name, email address, phone number, CPSO/licence number, billing number, medical discipline, billing district (Hamilton, Oshawa, or Toronto), and whether the provider is billing solo or group (and group number, if applicable).

  6. Setting up SRFax. Generally, the CHR will already have SRFax configured. If so, there is nothing you need to do. However, if the new provider requires their own SRFax configuration, TELUS Health will need to configure this for you. In that case, you must provide TELUS Health with your SRFax credentials (user number, fax number, password, and the email associated with the SRFax account).

  7. Setting up lab integrations:
