If you are integrated with electronic labs such as Excelleris or OLIS, you can view lab values in a table or graphical format. This is useful for reviewing ongoing medical diagnoses and so that you can see a trend of results over time. You can access a lab graph or table anywhere within the CHR that you can open the lab result.
Lab results are often named slightly differently depending on the electronic lab distributor it is received from (e.g Hemoglobin, Haemoglobin, Hb). The CHR's built-in lab synonym mapping ensures that lab results of the same type which have slightly different names can trend together on one graph.
Steps
1. Open the lab report or lab result. You can access them from the following locations:
Patient chart > Lab Results section
Patient chart > Summary view > Lab Results
Patient chart > Patient Data > Latest Lab Results folder
Patient chart > Patient Files section 💡 Tip: You can use the Lab, or domain-specific tag to see specific lab report types.

2. On the far-right side of the lab result, click the graph icon.
The graph and table appear in a new window.
💡 Tip: Electronic labs will have a lab icon instead of a paperclip icon (faxed lab reports). For more information, see Viewing electronic labs.
3. Review the trending values over time.
On the graph you can compare the Observed Value (green) with the Minimum Range (blue) and Maximum Range (pink). An Abnormal lab value is indicated with a pink star.
💡 Tip: Hover over the plotted value to see its numerical value. This is helpful for graphs showing a large date range.
The table underneath the graph shows all previous lab values. The collected date and time appear in rows with the specific lab value. Abnormal values appear in red with an arrow highlighting if the value is Below Low Normal or Above High Normal.
4. To save the graph and table as a new PDF, click the floppy disk icon. A new PDF file is saved in the patient's chart > Patient Files section. You can add comments, share and edit the new file. For more information see Viewing and managing inbox items.
💡 Tip: This is useful if you need to send the results outside of the CHR through outgoing referrals or to the patient via the patient portal.
5. Perform the following actions to view, print, or save the data.
