Improvements

Patient’s age displayed beside birthdate

It’s clinically useful to be able to easily see a patient’s age in different parts of the CHR (as opposed to their date of birth alone) to help identify a patient.

The patient’s age is now automatically calculated and displays in brackets beside the birthdate in several locations:

  • Schedules: When booking an appointment or viewing the details of an existing appointment

  • Pathways: When manually adding a patient with an appointment to the Pathway

  • Referrals: When creating a new referral or opening an existing one, as well as in the list of referrals

  • Billing dashboard: In the list of bills

Note: If the patient is less than 2 years old, the age shows in months.

Type of patient search is remembered for future searches

When you search for a patient, if you change from the default Name search—for example, if you prefer to search by ID—your selection is remembered for subsequent patient searches and saves you time.

For more information, see Searching for patients.

Identifying if a diagnosis in an encounter was added to the Medical History

When viewing an existing encounter, if you had selected the toggle to add a diagnosis to the Medical History, the diagnosis now appears with a checkmark. This allows you to easily see if a diagnosis was already added to the Medical History (and prevent adding it again if you need to unlock the encounter and make changes).

In the screenshot below of a signed encounter, you can see that hay fever and asthma were added to the Medical History but eczema was not. And, if you were to unlock the signed encounter, you could only select eczema to add to the Medical History since the other two diagnoses were already added.

For more information, see Recording an encounter diagnosis.

Viewing the prescription delivery method

When viewing the list of a patient’s prescriptions, you can now see whether the prescription was printed. The icon on the left is a printer icon, indicating the method of delivery. If a prescription was not printed (or was faxed), the pill icon remains.

Fix

  • When replying to an internal message for a patient and adding an attachment, you no longer have to search for the patient chart again before adding the attachment. The button now indicates that you can select a file from only that patient’s chart.
