Greeting cards can be added and sold through your account like any other product. However, one significant difference between greeting cards and other options, such as a canvas wraps or fine art prints, is that greeting cards can be customized, and they often have multiple sides to them.
Because of the customizable nature of greeting cards, enabling greeting card options for your storefront also enables our custom greeting card editor. We provide several greeting card design options for your clients to choose from, and once they've selected a card design they can then use our built-in editor to add their own images and customize the text.
After your client's have purchased a greeting card you can either download the files and use them to self-fulfill the order at the lab of your choice, or you can fulfill the order through one of our integrated fulfillment partners.
Setting It Up
To create the greeting card purchase option, start by navigating to the Selling » Purchase Options screen, and choose to create a Custom Greeting Cards purchase option.
The new purchase option will have a default name and description in place, but you are free to change those values to anything that you'd like. Notice that you will not be setting a price for the cards in this step; that'll be done in the next step.
Click the Save button to save your changes and move on to the next step.
Next, click the Create New option to create an option for specific card types. For example, you may want to create one option for Christmas Cards, another option for New Years Cards, and a third for Birth Announcements.
Select the Card Type of your choice, and modify the name and description. This step is also where you will be asked to set a price for the product. Most of our fulfillment partners offer greeting cards in packs of 25, so set your pricing accordingly.
Click the Save button to save and enable the option within your galleries.
Note: The first time your card is saved, a set of example images will automatically be added to the product for you based on the Card Type that you've selected. If you'd like to remove those example images, or if you'd like to add your own in their place, you can do that after the option has been saved for the first time.
How Your Clients Will See It
The card will display as a purchase option within your galleries similar to any of your other products. If your client chooses to purchase a greeting card option, the built-in card editor will allow them to customize the card to their liking.
