How to Uninstall Rise.ai From Your Shopify Store

Learn how to uninstall Rise.ai and cancel your account

Important: This article applies to the latest version of Rise.ai (installed from 2025 onward).

How to Uninstall Rise.ai From Your Shopify Store

Important: This article explains how to export your data before uninstalling the app and what happens after uninstallation. We recommend reviewing these sections before removing the app.

To uninstall Rise.ai, go to your Shopify admin → Click on Settings → select Apps → Find Rise.ai in the list → Click the three-dot icon (⋯) on the right → Click Uninstall

Once completing this process, we recommend that you refresh the page to verify that the app was uninstalled.

Please note: After a two-week waiting period, your store data will be permanently deleted and will no longer be accessible.


How to Export Data Before Uninstalling Rise.ai

Before uninstalling Rise, we recommend exporting your account's data, as it gets deleted from Rise.ai 2 weeks after uninstalling the app.

You can do this directly from the Rise dashboard:

Go to your Rise dashboard → Enter Reports → use the Export Report button for any report you'd like to download (it can be done for all of them):


What Happens to Gift Cards and Customer Wallets After You Uninstall Rise

  • Rise.ai codes created through Rise.ai are also created as Shopify gift cards codes. Thus, they remain active and redeemable even after the app is uninstalled.

  • Note that in your Shopify admin you can only see the last 4 characters of each code. Customers can find the gift card / wallet data in the email they've received.

  • After you uninstall Rise, some key changes include:

    • Customers will no longer be able to access the gift card claim page or greeting card page, that are sent with the gift card.

    • Rise.ai storefront assets will no longer be active.

    • Any expiration dates defined for wallet credits will no longer be enforced.

    • Scheduled rewards will not be issued and scheduled emails will not be sent.

    • You will no longer be able to manage Rise.ai gift cards, wallets, or other Rise.ai features from the Rise.ai dashboard.



Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: If I reinstall Rise, will my data be restored?
A: Your Rise.ai data is saved for 2 weeks after uninstalling. If you reinstall during that time, your settings and data will still be available.
After 2 weeks, all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Q2: Do I need to remove any Rise code from my Shopify theme?
A: No, unless any custom code was inserted manually for some (unique) reason.

Q3: Can I notify my customers that Rise has been removed?
A: Rise does not send automatic notifications to customers upon uninstall. If you'd like to inform customers, for example, to let them know where they can now view or access their codes, we recommend sending a message through your email marketing platform.

Q4: Can I still export reports or data after uninstalling?
A: Once the app is uninstalled, you will no longer be able to access the Rise.ai dashboard to export reports or data. We recommend exporting them before uninstalling.

Q5: Will I still be billed for Rise after I uninstall the app?
A: Once you uninstall Rise.ai from your Shopify store, new charges stop, but any charges already issued by before the uninstallation - will still apply according to Shopify’s billing.
