In this article you will learn:
What Is Rise.ai's Wallet Fraud Alert?
Wallet Fraud Alert is designed to add an advanced layer of security, helping to prevent the misuse of wallet codes and attempts to exploit your loyalty or rewards program.
By default, Rise.ai Wallet codes can be redeemed at checkout by anyone who has the code.
This feature works by verifying whether the wallet code used at checkout matches the email address provided by the customer. If a mismatch is detected, the system automatically flags a Fraud Risk Assessment on the Shopify order page. Additionally, stores on Shopify Plus can block the customer from completing checkout in real time.
For all Shopify Plans: Fraud Risk Assessment
Orders are flagged as high fraud risk in Shopify if wallet code/email mismatches are detected.
You can then can review flagged orders manually before fulfilling.
In the Shopify order page, a fraud risk warning and the specific reason for the alert will appear in the Order Risk section.
For Shopify Plus: Checkout Block
Optionally, you can prevent checkout completion when a customer’s email does not match the wallet code’s associated email.
A banner notification will display at checkout, alerting the customer to the mismatch and blocking the order until a valid code is entered.
How Wallet Fraud Alert Functions Across All Stores
When a customer completes an order using a Rise Wallet code at checkout, the system automatically checks whether the code is associated with the email address used in the order. If a mismatch is found, the order's fraud risk assessment is flagged with 'high risk'.
In such cases, you'll notice a warning signal near the order number, in the main orders page within the Shopify admin.
When entering the specific order page, you’ll see an indication for the fraud risk assessment at the top, and at the bottom right, including the reason for the alert:
Click on 'View fraud analysis' at the top of the page, then select the Rise.ai tab to see why the order was marked as potential fraud by Rise:
On Shopify Plus - How to Block Customers From Checking out When the Email is not Associated With the Wallet Code
Note: Available for Shopify Plus merchants only.
Stores on Shopify Plus can use a Checkout Block to pop up a notification in the checkout phase, and block customers from checking out, unless they remove the code or change their email address.
This notification appears only when a mismatch is detected between the customer’s email and the email linked to the Rise wallet.
To add the Wallet Fraud Alert extension to your Shopify store, follow these steps:
Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Navigate to 'Checkout and customer accounts'
3. In the Order Summary section, click on Add block > wallet-fraud-alert:
4. By default, the extension is set to block checkout when fraud is detected.
5. Click Save.
