Make sure the integration is active. To learn how, review this article: Rise.ai & Attentive – Activate the Integration.
Should you decide to send emails from Attentive as well, we recommend turning off Rise.ai’s native email notifications to ensure customers receive only one message per event. Instructions for disabling Rise.ai emails are provided at the end of this article.
Note: While Attentive provides tools to support compliant messaging flows, responsibility for obtaining and maintaining consent rests with your brand. For more information about messaging flows, please refer to the Attentive Data Center.
How to send store credit notifications through Attentive
Sending store credit emails and text messages with Attentive requires you to build a Journey, configure it based on how you’re using Rise.ai, and customize its emails/text messages.
a. Select the Journey trigger
In your Attentive dashboard, go to Journeys.
Click Create journey.
Choose Start from scratch.
Under Triggers, select a Rise Journey trigger. For store credit notifications, choose Store Credit Issued.
You’ll see a list of Rise.ai events. To set up store credit emails, focus only on the following store credit-related triggers:
**Note: Store Credit Issued is the primary trigger to start with. The rest of the triggers are optional, in case you find them commercially relevant.
Store Credit Issued | Triggered when store credit is issued to a customer (for example, as a reward, refund, or compensation, etc.) |
Store Credit Expired | Triggered when a customer’s store credit expires |
Store Credit Disabled | Triggered when a customer’s store credit is disabled |
Wallet Redemption | Triggered when a customer redeems their store credit |
5. Click Continue and select “Notify subscribers about a transaction” (recommended for transactional notifications).
6. Proceed to the Journey canvas.
b. Customize the Journey to send emails or text messages
Drag the "Send Email", or "Send text message" to the journey and add it as the next step.
Customize the email/text message to your liking.
In the email text, you can choose to add variables from Rise.ai:
Variable Name | Trigger Explanation |
rise_wallet_balance | Current balance of the customer’s store credit wallet |
rise_wallet_code | Unique code identifying the customer’s wallet |
rise_wallet_qr_code_url | URL for the QR code that links to the customer’s wallet |
rise_wallet_next_expiration_date | Date when the next wallet credit is set to expire |
rise_wallet_mobile_pass_url | URL to add the wallet to a mobile wallet app (Apple/Google Wallet) |
rise_wallet_last_transaction_date | Date of the most recent wallet transaction |
rise_wallet_last_increasing_transaction_date | Date when the last credit (increase) was added to the wallet |
rise_wallet_last_decreasing_transaction_date | Date when the last debit (decrease) was made from the wallet |
These variables can be found and selected by clicking the {} sign:
Setting Attentive emails live and disabling original Rise.ai emails
a. Setting Attentive emails live
