Why Setting Up Properly Matters
If you just created your Investorlift account and are seeing deals that don't match your investment goals, the most common reason is that your Buy Box has not been configured yet.
Your Buy Box is the foundation of your Investorlift experience. It tells the platform exactly what types of properties you're looking for - so you only see listings that match your strategy, location, and budget. Without it, the platform has no way to filter what's relevant to you.
This guide walks you through the three essential setup steps: configuring your Buy Box, setting up your notifications, and searching for deals.
Step 1: Set Your Buy Box
The Buy Box lets you define exactly what kinds of deals you're looking for so the platform can deliver relevant listings to your dashboard automatically.
How to Open the Buy Box
Click the Buy Box button next to the search bar.
What to Configure
On the next screen, define your preferences:
Buy Locations: Select the cities or markets where you want to invest. Start with 1–2 locations you know well. Avoid selecting "No preference" — you'll be flooded with thousands of irrelevant deals.
Price Range: Set your maximum purchase price for the property. This should reflect the property cost only — do not include rehab costs or closing costs.
Property Types: Choose from Single Family, Multifamily, Land, and more. Start narrow and expand once you're comfortable with the platform.
Investment Strategy and other filters: Refine your criteria based on how you invest — Fix & Flip, Buy & Hold, Wholesale, etc.
Use the toggles to enable or disable notifications for matching listings, then click Save Buy Box when done.

Step 2: Set Up Your Notifications
Keeping your contact details and notification preferences up to date ensures you never miss a deal that matches your criteria.
Update Your Contact Details
Navigate to My Profile and click Edit Profile.
Click Edit next to your phone number and email address, and confirm that you have opted in to receive SMS/MMS and emails.
Manage Notification Preferences
To adjust your deal notifications, go to My Buy Box and scroll to the notifications section. From there:
Use the toggles to activate or deactivate SMS/MMS and email notifications for matching deals.
Set your preferred Email Digest frequency: None, Daily, Twice a Week, or Weekly.
Click Save My Buy Box to apply your changes.
Step 3: Search for Deals
Once your Buy Box is configured, you can start exploring deals using Investorlift's filtering system.
