Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

This article explains how to secure your iqtax account using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) via SMS. When 2FA is enabled, you will receive a verification code on your phone each time you log in.

This additional security layer helps protect your account even if someone else knows your password.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

To enable 2FA:

  1. Log in to your iqtax account.

  2. Click Settings in the left sidebar.

  3. Select Security.

  4. Click 2F Authentication.

  5. Turn the Enable 2FA toggle to Yes.

Once enabled, you can add a phone number for SMS verification.


Adding Your Phone Number

To set up SMS verification:

  1. Go to Settings → Security → 2F Authentication.

  2. In the SMS Verification section, click Add Phone Number.

  3. Enter your phone number including the country code.

  4. Click Send Code.

iqtax will send a verification code via SMS to your phone.

💡 Tip: Make sure you enter the correct country code and phone number.


Verifying Your Phone Number

After requesting the SMS code:

  1. Enter the verification code you received on your phone.

  2. Click Verify & Enable.

Once the code is confirmed, SMS verification will be activated and your phone number will appear under Registered Phone Numbers.


Logging In With 2FA

After 2FA is enabled, the login process works as follows:

  1. Enter your email and password as usual.

  2. iqtax will send a verification code to your phone.

  3. Enter the 6-digit code on the verification screen.

  4. You will then be logged into your account.

🔔 Important: You will need access to your phone each time you sign in.


Managing Your Phone Number

In the SMS Verification section you can:

  • Edit your registered phone number

  • Delete the phone number

  • Add a new phone number

If you remove your phone number, SMS verification will no longer be available.


Troubleshooting

I did not receive the SMS code

  • Check that your phone number was entered correctly.

  • Wait a few seconds and click Resend code.

The verification code does not work

Make sure you enter the latest code sent to your phone, as previous codes may expire.

I lost access to my phone

If you can no longer access your phone, please contact the iqtax support team to restore access to your account.
