Create an Account: Visit our website at https://studio.tryiris.ai and sign up to start your journey. It only takes a few clicks! Here you can choose whether you wish to create an account for your Organization, or a personal account for your own use.

Answer a few quick questions: After you sign up, and before you download the app, the Iris website asks a few questions about how you plan to use Iris. If you step away to verify your email, the questions are still there when you come back. Signing up from the Iris desktop app instead? When you finish, you're returned to Iris and signed in.

Download Iris: Navigate to the download section and select the version tailored for your operating system (Windows or Mac).

Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to install Iris on your computer. Remember to allow any necessary permissions for a smooth setup.

First launch: The first time you open the Iris desktop app on a computer, Iris sets that computer up as the Bridge for a Studio. It's a one-time step. Using Iris in a web browser? The browser has no Bridge, so it skips this setup.

No Studios yet: If you're new to Iris and your account doesn't have a Studio, you'll see a short three-step guide. Iris creates a Studio, links this computer to it, and opens it. There's nothing to choose.

Already have a Studio? If your account can access one or more Studios, the Studio Picker is the first screen you see when you sign in on a new computer. It's labeled BRIDGE SETUP, with the heading Looks like you're on a new machine and One-time setup at the top right. A chip reads This computer followed by the computer's name, and the screen says: "This computer's bridge isn't linked to a studio yet. Create a new one, or link it to a studio you already have." Iris asks even if you have only one Studio. You can't close or skip this screen, so choose one of the two options below.

Create studio: Makes a new Studio named after this computer and links this computer to it. While it works, the button shows "Creating [computer name]…" and "Linking this bridge, then opening the studio." There's no name to type. You can rename the Studio later in Studio settings.

Or connect to an existing studio: Pick one of your Studios. Each card shows the Studio name, your role in it (for example, Owner), a status badge, and when it was created. When you pick one, its card shows "Connecting [computer name] to [Studio name]…". Not linked means no computer is linked to that Studio yet: pick it, and Iris links this computer and opens the Studio. Linked to followed by a computer name means another computer is already that Studio's Bridge.

Moving a Studio to this computer: If you pick a Studio that's linked to another computer, Iris shows Unlink Bridge: "A Studio can only be linked to one Bridge at a time. To link this Studio to a new Bridge, you must first unlink [computer name]." Confirm, and the other computer is unlinked and this one is linked in its place. The other computer's session ends, and it shows Bridge Setup the next time Iris opens there. Confirming takes the other computer offline from that Studio, so don't do it during a live production on that computer. Choose Cancel (or press Escape) and nothing changes.

Who can link: Only an Owner or Admin of a Studio can link a computer to it. Otherwise you'll see "Only an owner or admin can link a bridge". Ask an Owner or Admin, or create your own Studio.

After setup: From then on, Iris opens that Studio automatically every time you launch it on this computer. To look at another Studio you have access to, use the Studio switcher in the app header. It only changes which Studio you're viewing. It doesn't relink this computer.

Pairing: Click on the PTZ Icon in the left tray below the 'Video' and 'Audio' options. This process links your cameras directly to Iris, enabling seamless control and management.

Add Source: In Iris, select the option to add a new camera source.

Configuration: Choose your source from the Auto-detection wizard. Here you can see your control protocol, such as VISCA-over-IP, and adjust as necessary. Then, choose your camera's make and model.

Save: Once configured, save your settings. Your camera is now an active source within Iris!
