This article provides an overview of how to get started creating your Studio and adding your first cameras.


Step 1: Create Your Iris Account and Download the Software

  • Create an Account: Visit our website at https://studio.tryiris.ai and sign up to start your journey. It only takes a few clicks! Here you can choose whether you wish to create an account for your Organization, or a personal account for your own use.

  • Download Iris: Navigate to the download section and select the version tailored for your operating system (Windows or Mac).

  • Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to install Iris on your computer. Remember to allow any necessary permissions for a smooth setup.

Step 2: Link your machine as an Iris Bridge

  • Link the Bridge: Click the button in the center of your screen to open a popup. The popup will have a button to automatically detect available machines to assign as the Iris Bridge

  • Assign a Bridge: Choose your bridge. Once the link is established, your application will restart. After the restart, you will then see a notification that the connection was successful.

Step 3: Pair the Iris Agent with Your Cameras.

  • Pairing: Click on the PTZ Icon in the left tray below the 'Video' and 'Audio' options. This process links your cameras directly to Iris, enabling seamless control and management.

Step 4: Add Your First Camera Source

  • Add Source: In Iris, select the option to add a new camera source.

  • Configuration: Choose your source from the Auto-detection wizard. Here you can see your control protocol, such as VISCA-over-IP, and adjust as necessary. Then, choose your camera’s make and model.

  • Save: Once configured, save your settings. Your camera is now an active source within Iris!

Step 5: Explore Iris Features and Get Started

Upon adding your first camera source, you're ready to explore all that Iris has to offer:

  • Video Configuration Details: Access in-depth settings for each camera, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Auto Tracking: Utilize our sophisticated auto-tracking feature for dynamic camera management.

  • Output Options: Manage and configure your outputs individually, stream out via RTMP, or output your sources with NDI!

  • Integration: Discover how Iris integrates with your existing workflow, enhancing productivity.

  • Organize: Add your camera sources in one easy-to-navigate UI for efficient management of your hardware.

Sharing and collaboration in Iris are straightforward. Your configurations and setups can be easily shared with team members, requiring no additional account setup for viewing (unless specific access settings are adjusted).

Step 6: Involve Your Team

  • Team Workspace: Iris supports creating team workspaces, allowing you to collaborate effectively on projects. Simply navigate to your Iris dashboard and invite your team.

Step 7: Integrate and Enhance

  • Workflow Integration: Iris seamlessly integrates with your existing systems, making it a versatile tool in your toolkit.
