Navigate to Settings to configure your JACK App account. This article walks you through the essential setup steps — from company details and branding through to data setup and accounting integration — so your account is ready to use from day one.
Every setting below is in Settings. From the dashboard, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand menu and click Settings. This is where all of your account-wide settings live.
1. Company details
Go to Settings > Company > Company Details.
This information shows up across JACK, including in emails and in documents you send to clients, like proposals. We recommend doing this first.
Fill in:
Company name
Tax ID (EIN)
Website (optional)
Contact phone number
Primary company email address
Time zone
Business hours
Set your business hours. JACK uses them in emails, documents and most importantly, schedules.
If you work Monday to Friday, JACK won't let you add schedule items on weekends.
If you also work Saturdays, turn on Saturday and set your hours. You'll be able to schedule items during those hours, and Sunday stays blocked.
Business address
Add your business address if you have one. It will appear throughout JACK.
Bank account details
These details go on your client invoices, so clients can pay you directly.
Tick the checkbox to turn on bank details.
Enter your account details.
When you're finished, click Save Changes.
2. Data Setup: pipelines, lead sources and project types
In JACK, work moves through pipelines. Leads, Estimates and Jobs each have their own pipeline, made up of stages. For example, a leads pipeline might go: New Lead > Follow Up > Pending Response > Meeting Booked.
You set these up under Settings > Data Setup.
Sales pipeline
JACK gives you some default stages to start with you can:
Rename stages
Change conversion rates
Add new stages
Delete stages you don't need
Lead sources
When you create a lead, you can record where it came from. Add the sources your business uses, for example Google, Referral or Display Homes.
Project types
Set up project types that match how you run your jobs, for example Single Story or Double Story. JACK includes some to start with. For each type you can:
Set a standard duration for completing the project
Set a default folder structure
Your training will cover these in more detail.
3. Terms and conditions
We recommend setting these up before you start using JACK:
Supplier terms and conditions: shown on your purchase orders, so your suppliers see them.
Client invoice terms and conditions: shown on your client invoices. Use this for any legal terms your clients need to know.
4. Other settings to know about
Import tools: bring bulk data into JACK.
Domain: connect your business's custom domain so you can send and receive emails from your own address instead of JACK's default email.
Safety and compliance: set up your safety and compliance settings.
Client portal: change what your clients are able to see from their portal login.
5. User management and teams
User roles
Under Settings > User Management, you can create user roles or edit the ones JACK provides. Roles control which permissions each staff member has and what they can see in JACK.
ℹ️ You can refer to this article for more details on how to Set Up Staff Access Permissions
Team management
Under Team Management, you can create teams, name them and add members. This helps you organize people across your business.
What's next?
These first settings will help you get off to a smooth start in your first few weeks. Everything else will be covered in your training with our team and in our other help articles.
