Overview
Settings > Import Tool Jack supports bulk imports for job costings, schedules, catalog items and much more. Each import type has its own required fields and formatting rules. Following these rules ensures your data imports correctly the first time.
File will not upload
Check that your file is a CSV or Excel file with a single worksheet. If you're importing into an estimate, check that the Lead already has an empty Estimate to import into.
The file must hold a single worksheet-The Import Tool reads one worksheet at a time. Split your workbook into separate files and upload one sheet at a time.
Blank rows in the file-Delete any blank rows from your file, re-save it and upload it again.
Column headings on Source document don't match Jack column headings
Click Map Columns in the Unmapped Columns banner, match each column to a JACK column, then click Confirm Changes. The sheet re-validates after mapping. Alternatively, you can also download a fresh template and copy your data into it.
A row is flagged as an error
Turn on Show only rows with issues, then hover over the flagged cell to read the error. Fix it directly in the grid. Common causes are:
a required field is missing
a date is in the wrong format
a number field contains text
Cost code or unit not recognized
Select one of your company's existing cost groups or cost codes from the grid, or create a new one from the drop-down in the import using the + New Cost_Code button.
đĄYou can also set up codes, units and other custom data in Settings > Data Setup.
Catalog or template not available to select
Set the catalog status to Active or template status to Published. If a Catalog or Template is set to Draft status it will not be available to have information imported.
Navigate to Catalogs > Choose 3 dots > Choose Edit Catalog > Alter status
Navigate to Templates > Relevant template type > Open Template or create new > Details tab to alter Status > Save Changes
đĄ Tip: On the "Jobs Task import" you can import multiple items in the checklist column, simply separate each checklist item with a comma.
